FAQ's

What is included with a swimming pool?

See pool pages for details. It´s important if you are comparing quotes to make sure everything we list as standard is included. Normally you will find our standard items are extra!

How are your pools constructed?

We use the latest techniques to build a brick and metal mould which then has concrete sprayed onto it. Our teams have built over 2,000 pools between them so you are in safe hands. We build pools for private clients and have contracts with a number of developers to provide communal pools on urbanisations.

How long does it take to build a pool?

Normally 3 weeks but we always quote 4 weeks in case of poor weather or delays with materials.

Can i choose the shape & size of the pool?

Yes you can. If you can draw it we can build it! Our standard prices include rectangle and kidney shape pools. Again our standard prices apply to 6x3 8x4 10x5 pools. If you want something different then let us know and we can quote accordingly. Standard depth is 0.8m at the shallow end to 1.8m at the deep end.

Can i pick where on the plot the pool will go?

Yes you can the only limiter being you must have a minimum 1 metre distance from the outside edge of your pool to the boundary of your plot. This is a legal requirement.

I´ve heard i need a licence for my pool?

Yes you do. It is a legal requirement and if you are found not to have one you will receive a very large fine and the possibility of having the pool destroyed and the costs of this being added to the fine.

The process is time consuming and expensive. However we include the cost of this in the price of the pool unlike most of our competitors.

An architect visits your plot and from this inlcuding our liasons with you determines where the pool is going to be situated on the plot. From this stage you cannot change your mind where the pool goes.

The architect then produces a set of technical plans and drawings which are then given to the college of architects in Murcia city for approval and stamping.

Once this has been done the pool project as it is now called is taken to the local town hall and a fee paid for presenting the project. You receive a copy of the project for your records.

In due course the town hall will approve your project and you will receive written notification of this directly from them.

Some town halls will allow the construction of the pool to begin without the project being passed so long as you can provide a paper trial showing that you are in the process of applying for a licence. Others will not allow any work to begin until the process has been completed. The whole process takes on average 6 to 8 months depending on the time of year and remembering that August in particular is when the government offices close for the whole month as well as the numerous holidays and fiestas.

You cannot skip any of the stages mentioned above nor can you do your own plans so make sure you start to plan early!

How are the pool sizes calculated?

The industry standard is to measure the outside of the pool edge to edge. This means that an 8x4 pool has an internal water area of 7x3. The additional space being the concrete walls and supporting structure. If you wanted 8x4 water size you would actually build a 9x5 pool which would cost extra.

How do we take care of our pool?

An information pack will be supplied with your pool. We also supply you with a hoover and net cleaning kit.

What is your guarantee?

We guarantee our pool basins for 10 years, all electrical components are under manufacturers warranty for 2 years.

Can I have different tiles or mosaic?

Different tiles and mosaics are available for an extra fee.

Can i fill my pool up from the tap at my house?

Your initial water to fill the pool must come from a tanker. It is ILLEGAL to fill the pool initially from the mains supply. To give you an idea an 8x4 pool will hold an average of 38,000 litres of water. The fines for not doing this far outway the cost of the tanker water. The average price to fill an 8x4 pool with tanker water is 450 euros depending on the supplier. Sometimes the water supplied is dirty and will need chemically treating before using. The cost of the water and cleaning is not included in the price of the pool.
